Words are inadequate for describing the emotion- and fun-filled tribute dinner this week honoring Mr. C’s induction into the National Soccer Hall of Fame. A great time was had by all. What a fraternity we all share!
Here are the links to a moving photo tribute done by Jim Madden. Great!
From Maddo:
As I reflect back on the events of last evening, I can’t stop but smile at what we were able to share and celebrate. As so many of you shared last night, what we have is truly rare – the privilege to have played for, and been coached by, a soccer legend, and that we are still to this day, united around that premise and tradition that Mr. C created and defined for us as teammates and alumni.
So many heartfelt words were spoken, so many reflections, so many hilarious moments…. I wanted to thank you all for being there last night, and helping us celebrate the induction of Mr. C into the National Soccer Hall of Fame. I’ll paraphrase what Mr. Gavitt said: “What Mr. C has done locally is enough on its own to merit induction. But to realize what he’s accomplished on a national level is truly remarkable”.
As Marty, Jack, Dave Maze, Dave Donovan and others so eloquently expressed, to have this “fraternity” is also truly remarkable. Thanks again for being part of another great event. Hope to see you all again in a couple of days at Cameron for the game on Friday.
